Tuition & Financial Aid

All students must have comprehensive, U.S.-based health insurance that provides coverage in the state of Maine. Comprehensive health insurance means a major medical plan covering both routine services (such as preventive care, prescriptions, and urgent care visits) and emergency services. Because all health-related costs are the family's responsibility, adequate coverage is important protection against significant unexpected expense.

Hyde has partnered with CAA Enroll to provide a school-endorsed health insurance plan for international students. International students may enroll directly through CAA Enroll. The cost for the 2026-2027 academic year is $2,595.

Most domestic students are already covered through a family health insurance plan. If your current plan does not provide coverage in Maine, or if you have questions about whether your coverage meets Hyde's requirements, please contact Sara Fitzmaurice, at sfitzmaurice@hyde.edu.

Yes. Hyde awards need-based financial aid to both domestic and international students. Families from all countries are encouraged to apply.

Yes. Financial aid is reviewed annually. Each year, families submit a new Clarity application, and awards are adjusted if financial circumstances have changed.

You can apply at any point in the admissions process. Hyde reviews financial aid applications on a rolling basis, so we encourage families to complete the Clarity application as early as possible.

Clarity is the third-party application Hyde uses to assess financial need. It reviews your household’s assets, income, expenses, and debts to provide an independent assessment. See the Applying for Financial Aid section on this page for step-by-step instructions.

Yes. Hyde is an eligible private secondary school, so families can use 529 plan funds toward tuition, currently up to $20,000 per student each year free of federal income tax. State treatment varies, so confirm the details with your 529 plan administrator or a tax advisor.
