Hyde School Welcomes Woolwich Native as New Admission Director

Kristin Harman, Hyde Director of Admission

We are excited to announce that Kristin L. Harman has accepted a position as the Director of Admissions starting on March 15. Kristin’s career has been in teaching and admissions where she worked in private schools in Boston, Washington, D.C., and New York City/Brooklyn. She recently left the Trevor Day School where she was Director of Admissions and Financial Aid for the Middle and Upper Schools.

Kristin first interacted with Hyde in an exchange program with Morse High School, as she grew up in Woolwich and attended Bath schools. She has returned to Maine with her husband David, retired from Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, NY, where he served as headmaster for sixteen years.

Kristin will be taking the reins from current Director of Admission, Kevin Folan. Kevin recently accepted a new position as Head of School at Hilltop Country Day School, a K-8 independent school in Sparta, NJ. Kevin says of the transition, “Hyde has been a transformative experience for me both personally and professionally. While [my wife] Rachel and I will dearly miss the students, parents, and faculty, I could not pass up the opportunity to accomplish one of my major professional goals: becoming a Head of School.”

Hyde is excited about the leadership and admissions acumen that Kristin will bring to the team. Kristin will be working with Kevin through the end of June for a seamless transition for Hyde’s current and prospective families.
