Hyde Hosts MCI
Hyde hosted MCI on a sunny Monday after senior prom. MCI started the scoring going on a 2-0 run until the Bailey Kent ’18 (4g, 1a) scored the first of her four goals. Emma Geertgens ’19 led the pack on defense, tenaciously preventing goals and scooping 5 groundballs, her season high. Hyde’s net minders Miranda Cully ’20 and Faith Spath ’18 combined for 11 saves on the day, limiting MCI to only 7 goals. Liza Burroughs ’18 notched her first hat trick of the season and dominated the midfield. Dual threat Cully also scored 2 goals for the offense. Sophomores Madison Hughes (1g, 1a) and Logan Truluck (5g,1a) pushed the tempo of the game and made crucial scoring plays. Final score Hyde 15- MCI 7. Hyde Defeats Kennett 16-7
The Wolfpack hosted New Hampshire’s Kennett High school in a home contest Thursday at Jaye family Complex. Kennett jumped out to a quick lead scoring off the opening draw. Hyde struggled to solve the Kennett zone defense early and came up empty on successive possessions. Bailey Kent ’18 finally picked the lock en route to a season high nine points (8g,1a) and Liza Burroughs ’18 tallied her second hat trick in a row. In addition to locking down Kennett’s best threat, Maeve Dunn ’19 scored twice on key runs from the defense. Senior attackers Tori Merrill (2g) and Nicole Mooney (1g) scored their first goals of the season bringing the Hyde tally to 16. Miranda Cully ’20 held Kennett to 3 goals in the first half and new net minder Faith Spath ’18 blocked 9 shots in her second debut in the goal. Monday Hyde travels to league foe Kent’s Hill School in their final MAISAD competition of the year.
