Hyde School: 4
Kents Hill: 1
The Wolfpack traveled to Kents Hill to play a rematch of the last game, which ended in a tie, on Wednesday. The game was played on the turf field under warm temperatures and clear skies.
The Hyde boys scored first, in the 6th minute, on a Penalty Kick. Derrick Rwikangura`19 was fouled in the box and converted on the subsequent PK. Hyde’s second goal was scored in the 44th minute by Captain Post Graduate Mwesa Mulonda off an assist from fellow Captain Post Graduate Maulid Abdow. The score was 2-0 at halftime.
Derrick Rwikangura`19 scored his second goal on a 1v1 break away in the 53rd minute. Ten minutes later Kents Hill scored their only goal when they were awarded a Penalty Kick for rough play by a Hyde defender during a corner kick. Both teams had scoring chances in the remaining minutes of the match. However, strong defending and goal keeping by goalie PG Stephen Waddill kept the Huskies at bay. The Wolfpack notched their final goal in the 89th minute when Captain PG Maulid Abdow finished a Derrick Rwikangura`19 assist.
Other notable play came from the defensive unit of Altug Yilmaz`18, Will Duerr`18, Serge Mudogo`18 and Zuri Campbell`19. They kept the scoring to a minimum with their hard work and tactically solid play. This was a team effort and a team win. Our next match is with Bradford Christian Academy on Saturday October 21st at McMann Field in Bath at 2:00pm.
