Hyde – 0
Hebron – 6
After a string of home losses, the Wolfpack took to the road for their first away contest. It was an unseasonably hot day as they took the field to face the lumberjacks of Hebron. Play was commanded by the home team while the Hyde girls fought hard to preserve a first half shut out. Goalkeeper Alice Yokabaskas ’18 played an outstanding game, making several key saves in both halves. First half scoring opportunities came from hard work on the flank by sophomore Logan Truluck ’20 and striker Elena Waldstein ’18.
Unfortunately, the second half was a stark contrast as Hebron opened a flood of scoring less than a minute into play. Hyde’s defense was riddled as two starters made their way to the bench with injuries leaving a compromised backfield to handle a talented Lumberjack offense. Hebron would go on to score a total of six goals in the second half with little response from the Wolfpack. The team returns to the road to face Bradford Christian on Friday, September 29th.
Hyde – shots: 5, corner kicks: 0, saves: 16, fouls: 4, offsides: 1
Hebron – shots: 19, corner kicks: 6, saves: 0, fouls: 3, offsides: 2
