Hyde School: 2
The Wolfpack traveled to Epping New Hampshire to play a match with The Winchendon School on Wednesday afternoon. The game was played on artificial turf under sunny hot conditions. The Hyde squad managed to maintain possession for much of the first half of play and outshot the opponent. However, after 45 minutes the score was knotted 0-0.
Both teams battled for possession and scoring chances right from the start of the second half. However, in the final twenty minutes of the contest, Post Grad Maulid Abdow found the back of the net twice. He scored the first one off a rebounded shot when the keeper made a save on an Ale’ Atkins`20 shot. His second goal was a 1v1 attacking play with the goalie.
Other notable play came from Cooper Felt`19 who played a defensive center midfield position. He did a commendable job of creating attacking opportunities for himself and the other offensive players. He also made some important defensive plays. Captain Serge Mudogo`18 anchored the defense at center back. He did a great job winning flighted balls and directing them back to his teammates forward of his position.
This was a good win for the team. They did a nice job of controlling the pace of the game and maintaining possession of the ball. Their composure and hard work was rewarded with a win. Our next match is with Bradford Christian Academy at the New England Sports Complex in Amesbury Massachusetts on September 29th at 5:45pm.
