The Hyde Women’s lacrosse team traveled to Gould Saturday for a rematch in the Maisad conference. Hyde came out on top 13-12 in a close contest. Gould struck first before the Phoenix found their rhythm. Playing on a hot day took its toll on the Phoenix as they struggled to transition the ball with a fierce Gould ride. Goalie Madison Hughes –’20 had her breakout performance of the year with 15 saves, stemming the Gould attack. Senior attacker Emma Levensohn scored 8 goals, bringing her career total to 203 goals, an outstanding performance. Bailey Kent ’18 contributed 2 goals and controlled the offense for the Phoenix. Daisy Humsey ’17 had a single goal on the game and dominated the draw circle, winning 65% of her restarts. Freshman Logan Truluck continued her steady leadership in the midfield with 2 goals and high pressure defense. The Hyde defense led by Junior Merrill Truluck scooped up twice as many ground balls as the Gould offense.
The Hyde squad looks forward to playing Hebron on 5/2 to round out their Amistad play.
