The Hyde women took the long drive to Nokomis High school to take on the Mid-Maine team. The first half the teams traded goals and saw some nice play for both teams. The second half saw the dominant phoenix offense pull away from Mid-Maine. The story of the game was the underclassmen who stepped up to lead the team in scoring and great play. Freshman sensation Brooke Clement started the scoring off and ended up with 5 goals for the day and one assist. Our other freshman star Maeve McCaffrey tallied two goals on the day and picked up four ground balls. The upperclassmen also had a banner day- Lutes Bartlett had three draw controls and three ground balls. Senior Jill Tollman led the team with 6 ground balls and one interception. Junior Emma Levensohn unselfishly fed her other teammates the ball tallying 6 assists and one goal. Scoring for the first time this year seniors Sara Feldman and Nadia Aikebaier who each had a nice goal. Keeper Diamond Brown made 10 saves on the day and started 4 fast breaks for goals. Next up for the Phoenix Maisad rival Kent’s Hill on Wednesday.
