The Phoenix Girls lacrosse team visited the Huskies at Kent’s Hill on Monday. The game was the Hyde team’s best of the season, defeating the Kent’s Hill 15-6. Keys to the win were securing 85% of the draws, 35 ground balls, and 8 saves. In the goal freshman Madison Hughes continues to shine. Her outlet passes started many fast breaks that led to Phoenix goals. Hyde’s defensive core of Ogens (’17), Yu(’19), Truluck (’18), and Grover(’17)played their best game of the season as well, allowing only 14 shots the entire game. The Midfield (Burroughs ’18, Doline ’18, and Truluck ’20) combined for 6 goals, 4 assists, and 15 ground balls. Their tireless play sealed the fate of the Huskies. The attack (Kent’18, Beavis ’17, Humsay ’17, Spath, and Yokabaskas ’19) also had a banner day combining for 9 goals, 4 assists, and 5 ground balls. The Phoenix improve to 4-0 on the season and face Mid-Maine at Home this Friday at 4:30.
