Wolfpack Girls Varsity Basketball @ Aleigh Mills Tournament

Hyde-Woodstock – 29

Kents Hill – 15

The girl’s basketball team traveled to Kents Hill for the Aleigh Mills Tournament held there annually.  In the first game the team faced off against the host school Kents Hill.  The girl’s played tough defense creating turnovers and some easy scores.  Dairy Rojas ’19 played by far her best half of basketball for Hyde School.  She had scored 16 points with less than four minutes to go in the first half.  The team had a lead going into halftime but was without the services of the point guard for the rest of the game.  In spite of that the team pulled together to beat Kents Hill and make it into the championship game against Hebron.

The scoring was as follows:
Dairy Rojas “19 7-0-16, Cameron Yale ’18 3-0-6, Daisy Humsey 3-0-6, Tori Luo ’18 0-1-1

Hyde-Woodstock – 26
Hebron Academy – 62

In the championship game Hyde faced Hebron and their win streak came to an abrupt end.  Woodstock’s defense struggled to contain their adept shooters while they were struggling to put the ball in the net.  All in all the kids had a great time at the tournament and learned a lot about basketball.  League play kicks off Wednesday against the Lincoln School.

The scoring was as follows;
Dairy Rojas ’19 5 – 2 -14, Lauren Leask ’18 0-1-1, Daisja Feuer ’17 0-1-1, Tori Luo ’18 1-0-2,  Cameron Yale ’18 2-0-4, Daisy Humsey ’17 2-0-4

Hyde-Woodstock – 5
Lincoln – 53

Hyde started its league play against Lincoln.  The girls were down two starters and struggled to find any scoring power.  They played solid defense but had to make some adjustments at half time under the basket.  All in all the girl’s worked hard and kept their head’s up.  The team’s next game is home against PCD.

The scoring was as follows;
Claudia Salhaney ’18 1-0-3, Lauren Leask ’18 1-0-2
