Tabor Academy 18
On Saturday, the Wolfpack hosted Tabor Academy for the first time ever now that Tabor is part of the Evergreen League. It was a very evenly played and physical game. The first quarter was scoreless as the two teams worked to figure one another out. Tabor struck first and took a 6-0 lead into half-time.
Hyde spent half-time trying to figure out how to best move the ball offensively vs. the tough Tabor defensive line. After coming back the week before, the boys were confident that they could still win the game. However, we could not find the end-zone in the second half. Our only score came from a defensive scoop-and-score from PG Jordan Knight ’17.
Our achilles heal in this game was our lack of emotional composure down the stretch combined with mental errors. Winning close football games requires a discipline and focus which we lacked on Saturday.
Many players worked very hard and put in tremendous effort throughout the game. We will regroup, clean up our mistakes, and get ready to travel to Pingree School on Saturday for a 3pm contest.
