Hyde School: 0 – Kent’s Hill: 3
The Hyde School 3rds soccer team traveled to Kent’s Hill yesterday to play a competitive game against the Huskies. The warm clear air, gave a crisp view of the western Maine mountains as the backdrop for the game. A huge Maple, blaze orange, next to the field reminded us that this beautiful day was actually in October, not August. The Trees low hanging branches were also considered out of bounds, which came up more than once during the game. The team gave it their all but in the end couldn’t upset the Huskies at home on their Family weekend. Max Wolinsk, Evan Pfosi, and Danny Yang, all took shots on the defending net. Huge shout out to Able Kaplan who played all 60 minutes of the game in mid field at full speed, and multiple times burning defending players with his fancy foot work. Sky Drossman, Mickey Guo and Hayden Conner played some great defense and Jack Coray came up with some big saves in goal.
After their hard work the team celebrated with dinner at McDonald’s in Augusta on the way back to campus. The champion at dinner was Sonny Zhang who ordered enough food for three people, finished it and then went back up to order and Ice cream. He must have worked hard to be that hungry. After refueling the team had a little fun on the playground outside McDonalds before loading back on the bus. The team faces off against the Huskies again on Oct 22 at home and believes with some more practice they will put up an win at the rematch!
