Hyde 44
Kents Hill 6

The Wolfpack football team started the season on a strong note with a decisive 44-6 victory over the Huskies of Kents Hill School. Hyde overwhelmed the Huskies early with good special teams play and a strong running game.

Ian Ricketts ’17 opened the scoring in the first quarter with a punt return following the Huskie’s first drive. Ian also had a great day running the ball and had many tackles on defense. Jordan Knight ’17 had a good day rushing with two scores of his own and a nifty punt return for a score which was unfortunately called back. Marcus Greenidge ’17 found the end-zone twice on the day, once rushing and once receiving. Teddy St. Louis ’18 had a receiving touchdown on a nicely executed wide receiver screen.

Quarterbacks Reese Norton ’17 and Jake Vasapolli ’18 did a great job executing the offense. Jake threw two touchdown passes and spread the ball out nicely. Place kicker Jakob Robinson ’18 went 4-5 kicking extra points.

Post-graduate lineman Josh Angel ’17 dominated the line off scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Josh had a deflected pass and multiple sacks and tackles.

Hyde has a short week to prepare for the Bulls of Holderness School. We head up to Holderness, NH, on Friday afternoon for a 4:15pm contest.
