Hyde Girls Soccer traveled a long and winding 2.5 miles down the road to face off against our friendly neighbors, Rectory School. It was a show down of the Wolves vs the Wolfpack. Hyde started the game strong controlling much of the ball on our offensive end, however, the end of the first proved our love for fitness must continue. Rectory was able to capitalize off a PK and take the lead 0-1 heading into the second half. By focusing on our positives Hyde was able to regroup in the second and fight through the very end with Hannah Howes ’17 scoring the first goal of the season. Though we were unable to find the back of the net for a second time, the girls really came together and found the true power of uniting as one unit. A few stand outs were Zakiiyah Pulliam-Holmes ’20 in her first ever soccer game, Elsa Zheng ’17 and Coco Cai ’17 who helped lead Hyde’s defense and of course Lizz Slivnick ’17 who had a total of 6 saves in goal.
We look forward to a week of hard work and fitness to prepare us for our away game this Saturday.
