On Tuesday September, 13th, the Boys XC Team hosted their first meet of the season. It was a cool, sunny day and great day for XC racing. We had a total of 18 runners participate between Richmond, Seacoast Christian, and Hyde. Even though it was a small meet, it was a great way to start the season by racing on our home course and putting some times down as a starting point for the rest of our season. We have a range of talent and experience on our team this season, which makes each day exciting and new for us as coaches.
Senior Demeke Geremew ’17 was our lead runner of the race from start to finish with a time of 17:59. He was followed by a trio of runners for Hyde, including Edwin Ezedonmwen ‘ 19, Evan Davis ’17, and Noah West ’17 finishing with great first meet times of 21:14, 21:20, and 22:16 respectively. Our fifth scorer for the team was Parris Thompson ’18 who completed the multi-surfaced course in 23:09. This is a great first pack time from our 2nd to 5th runners of 1:55. We will continue to work and improve this time, while also tightening the gaps of all our runners to begin forming close packs. Overall, the coaches were all impressed with our entire team and look forward to taking on all the MAISAD schools tomorrow at Gould Academy. This will be everyone’s first look at each other as programs before the MAISAD Championship in November
Thanks and continue looking for “Trail Mail”!
