Woodstock (April 14, 2015) – The Wolfpack JV Lacrosse team fought hard in their first game of the season but was unable to come out on top. This year the team is made up of a lot of guys who are playing the sport for their first time ever. That said, the way they carried themselves on the field was if they had been there before. Not once did the coaches doubt the effort they put forth. The Wolfpack held Avon to 6 goals in the first half and 5 in the second half. Outstanding efforts were put forth by Sean Duffy ’18 and Spencer Levin ’17 who ran the offense for the Wolfpack and each found the net to put Hyde on the scoreboard. Other standouts in the game came from Jake Vasapolli ’18 and Brett Mandel ’16 both first timers to the game of lacrosse. They hustled at the midfield position and fought hard until the very end. Lastly, it is important to mention the outstanding efforts of our defensive front Quintin Felder ’18, Devon Churchill ’17, and Long Mai ’17. They pressured the attack and showed great improvements in their communication throughout the game. Sean McKinley ’16 stepped in goal for the Wolfpack and with the number of shots fired on goal he should be proud of his performance.
Boys JV Lacrosse will play in their second game of the season at the Pomfret School on 4/16 against Williams for their Spring Family Weekend game. The boys have continued to work on their stick skills to get better every day, so come out and show your support!
