After 2 weeks spent on a quest to be the fittest team, the Hyde Girls Lacrosse team left it all out on the field in their first game against Portsmouth Abbey. Daisy Humsey ’17 set the tone with the first goal. She would continue to score 2 more completing Hyde’s only hat trick of the game. Maya Steindler ’16 and Maddie O’Connor ’16 added 2 goals each. Joanna Ren ’16 and Achaita Gakou ’18 did an awesome job in our midfield helping transition the ball to our offensive end. Tracy He ’16, Molly Yue ’18, and Dairy Rojas ’19 played strong consistent defense the whole game by fighting through ground balls and keeping their attackers from getting shots off. The MVP of the game goes to Cassie Brosemer ’17 who stepped in goal for the first time ever today and had 14 saves! Overall the girls played with heart and walked off the field with their heads held high.
