The Boys Thirds Basketball team travelled to Valley View on Wednesday 20, January, losing an exciting game in which they boys played their best basketball this year. The score saw Hyde leading at halftime 25-19, but then Valley View went on a run in the third quarter due to Hyde’s foul situation and was able to edge Hyde at the end of the game. The Wolfpack shot very well in the first half. Ruan Xiangrong ‘17 and Jia Zekun ‘17 scored twelve and thirteen points each. Meanwhile, Josh Miller ‘19 and Li Jiaming ‘17 hit key three-point shots to keep Hyde in the game. The Wolfpack frontcourt of Cao Chengjian ‘18 and Zheng Yuanzhi ‘17 showed toughness on the defensive boards, but both players struggled to find their shooting touch. In the closing seconds, Hyde twice created opportunities to tie the game but its free throws fell off the rim. The Wolfpack plays next on Saturday 23, January against MacDuffie at home.
