New Hampton 55:
Hyde School 22

On Saturday, the Wolfpack squad traveled north to take on the Huskies of New Hampton School. New Hampton came out strong, took advantage of early Hyde mistakes, and dominated the first quarter. The Wolfpack seemed out of sync and were physically outmatched.

After some New Hampton substitutions which leveled the playing field, Hyde started to move the ball, get some defensive stops, and compete. Marcellus Piper ‘16 led the way for the Wolfpack. He played just about the entire game, scored, made tackles, and even stepped in as our kicker. His energy and toughness was a serious bright spot for an otherwise tough afternoon.

Two other players stepped in and up on Saturday. Senior Bill Lin ’16 and Junior Zekun Jia ’17 played a great game and did the team proud with their commitment to compete regardless of the situation or score.

Junior quarterback and linebacker Reese Norton ’16 also played his heart out and worked hard the entire game executing the offense and making tackles to the very end.

Hats off to an outstanding New Hampton squad. The Wolfpack look forward to staying put next Saturday as we host Proctor Academy at 3pm.
