Lincoln County: 12
The Lincoln County Eagles traveled south to take on the Fighting Phoenix in a scrimmage at the Jaye Family track and football field on a crisp autumn afternoon.
The First quarter saw Hyde jump out to a 24 – 0 lead with a solid running game lead by Shemar Jack’16, Brett Gerry ’16 and Trevor Saucier ’16.
The second period opened with Lincoln starting a drive on their own 23 yard line. On a 3rd and 13 from their 38 yard line, Eagle QB Matt Tomasello found Isaac Charbonneau open for what appeared to be a certain touchdown. Hyde’s Shemar Jack chased him to the 3 yard line, stripped the ball, scooped it up in the end zone and (behind a few crushing blocks from Andrew Palermo ‘16 and Devon Stanford ’16) rambled to the Eagle 42 yard line. QB Jake Durkin’16 found Palermo for a 26 yard TD pass connection and with Jack adding the 2 points. Hyde was dominating 32 – 0 with five minutes remaining in the half.
Hyde substituted in the 3rd and 4th quarters, giving the younger players some playing time. The Eagles finally broke through the Phoenix defense in the 4th with two scores to make the final 32 – 12.
The Phoenix will Host the Tilton Rams next Saturday, Sept 26th at 3:30 pm on the Jaye Family Field. Come watch the excitement!!
