Thomas Schilling and Aaron Cao Earn title of SENE Doubles Champions
After an undefeated season for the Hyde first doubles team of Thomas Schilling and George Sawchuck, the two were the favorite going into the SENE doubles tournament. With Sawchuck’s absence, Aaron Cao stepped-in to fill his shoes. This was not an easy task.
Starting at 9:30am this morning, Schilling and Cao defeated doubles teams from both St Andrews (8-4) and Marianapolis (9-7) to move on to the semi finals. In the semi finals, Schilling and Cao trailed at first and came back to beat their opponents, another team from St Andrews (8-5).
Hyde was matched up against the first doubles team from Rocky Hill for the championship. Cao was dominating with his serve, giving Hyde a commanding lead of 6-2. Rocky Hill refused to go down with a fight, as they closed the gap 5-7. Finally, Schilling and Cao connected to brake the St Andrews serve and become the champions of the first annual SENE doubles tournament.
Please congratulate the team on a great season!
