Tough Loss to Ravens for Wolfpack JV Lax

Hyde Wolfpack – 6
Portsmouth Abbey – 12

The Boy’s JV Lacrosse team traveled to Portsmouth Abbey to play in their second match-up against the Ravens this season. Although the outcome was not in the Wolfpack’s favor, this game was arguably the best game the boys played all season. The Wolfpack won the first quarter, 1-0, with a goal from Devin Ehrlich ’18. Sean McKinley ’16 had arguably his best game of the season recording what seemed like a dozen saves in the first quarter. The Wolfpack found the net again in the second quarter when long-stick midfielder Christian Bassette ’17 ripped one past the Ravens goalie. However, the Ravens took a 3-2 lead heading into half time and their momentum carried right over into the third quarter shutting down the Wolfpack offense. That said, the guys did not give up and kept working hard. Ehrlich found the goal four more times in the fourth quarter. Other standouts in the game were Quinn McGuire ’15 who did an excellent job as a defensive long pole for the first time this season. Tony Mao ’16 showed great intensity and aggressiveness at attack fighting for ground balls. All in all, it was a fun game to be a part of and great to see the growth the team has made since playing the Ravens in their first match-up. The Wolfpack head into their last week of the season and will continue to prepare for a rematch vs. Stafford. The game will be played at home on Thursday, May 14th at 4:00 pm. This should be an exciting game so come out and support!

Go Wolfpack,
Coach Sheehan
