Team: Boy’s Future Varsity Lacrosse
Date: April 29, 2015
Score: Hyde Bath: 3 Mid-Maine: 12
Highlights:
The Hyde Future Phoenix hosted the Mid – Maine lacrosse club on a rare warm sunny day in Bath. The future Phoenix did not come out to play and in the 1st quarter, the Mid Maine Bears lit up the Phoenix defense with 5 goals (four of which were power play goals). The second period saw more of the same disjointed phoenix play and the Bears went into half time with an 8 – 0 lead.
The Future Phoenix appear to be a 2nd half team as the 3rd period saw a dramatic increase in ground ball and shots, with a lack of penalties. James Bristow fed Kyler Hella for two goals while the defense of Connor Foye, Max Hewitt and Randy Genson stifled the Bear Attackmen holding them to only 1 goal. Forgetting the 1st half, the Phoenix were winning 2-1. The fourth period opened with Nolan Lowder notching his first goal of the season to close the gap 9 – 3. However, the Bear offense opened up putting 12 shots on net in the fourth and scoring three times to finish the game on top 12 – 3.
Jacob Dawson withstood 37 shots on net, stopping 25 of them in the loss s he earned the dirty ball award for heart and hustle.
