Tough Loss for Wolfpack JV Lax vs Stafford

Hyde – 3
Stafford – 8

The Wolfpack JV Lacrosse team lose a tough one today against an aggressive Stafford team. The Wolfpack were down 1-0 within the first minute of the game, however there was a momentum swing in favor of the Wolfpack. Ian White ’18 scored first for the Wolfpack dodging three defenders and ripping a shot right past the Stafford goalie. By the end of the first quarter the Wolfpack went up 2-1 when Ian connected with Devin Peterson ’16 for goal number 2. The Wolfpack were able to find the net one more time in the first half when Ian capitalized on a Stafford penalty. White finished with two goals on the day. The Wolfpack went scoreless in the second half but there were some great defensive efforts to note. Koray Altay ’15 made his best stick check of the year which stopped a Stafford fast break. Hazem Barkache ’17 showed his fearlessness stepping in front of a Stafford midfielder to block a shot. A big Wolfpack shoutout goes out to Nabeel Akram ’16 who played in his first lacrosse game of his career. His athleticism and curiosity to understand the game will definitely help the team as we near into the second half of our season. The boys have a week of practice to go back to the basics and perfect their skills before hosting Worcester Academy on May 2nd, at 3:00pm.

Go Wolfpack,
