Wolfpack Boys JV Lax Tops Hyde-Bath 7-4

Hyde Wolfpack – 7
Hyde Phoenix – 4

The Wolfpack JV Lacrosse team earned their first win of the season in their family rivalry game against Hyde Bath! The boys set themselves up for success right from the beginning controlling the ball for the majority of the first quarter. Devin Peterson ’16 found the net twice from X, scoring the first two goals of his career within 3 minutes of each other. Lockdown defense from Sean Conigliaro ’17, Nick Danso Adjei ’18, and Jeremy Gu ’15 kept the Phoenix scoreless in the first quarter. However, the Phoenix answered in the second quarter and closed the lead 3-2. Before we knew it the the game was tied at 3’s. That said, the Wolfpack kept their composure and Devon Ehrlich ’18 ripped one by the Phoenix goalie to give the Wolfpack a 4-3 heading into half time. After a quick water break the game was back on and the Wolfpack were game out strong in the second half. Excellent ball movement by the Wolfpack set-up Sonny Meyers ’17 and Devon Churchill ’17 for shots on goal but great saves by the goalie left the two scoreless. Dominic Rizzo ’16 was a face-off machine and had two quick back-to-back goals right off the whistle. Ian White ’18 added one to the scoreboard and gave the Wolfpack a nice cushion with 5 minutes to go in the game. The biggest highlight of the game goes to Bronson Kirby ’16 scoring his first goal of his career and sealing the win for the Wolfpack. Kirby’s consistent effort to work on his shot after practice had paid off on Saturday. The final shout-out goes to Sean McKInley ’16 who had an excellent day in goal. He was the voice of the defense and had some amazing saves. The win for the Wolfpack was a great end to family weekend! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the guys this past Saturday!

Go Wolfpack,
Steve
