The Hyde Girls Lacrosse team had their first home game of the season Monday afternoon, taking on a much more experienced Williams team. Despite the score, it was an overall positive experience as the team was able to work on the fundamentals and get more experience on the field. The growth the girls have made since their first practice just two weeks ago was very apparent. The defense was much more organized in marking and the team was able to connect more passes on the offensive end. Highlights were Tina She ’16 taking the draw control for her first time and using her aggressive nature to win it and give Hyde a much needed opportunity on attack. Tracy He ’16 and Joanna Ren ’16 both continued to show great discipline and hard work while leading the defensive unit. Maya Steindler ’15 led the offense scoring her third goal of the season. The team hustled the entire 50 minutes and worked together allowing them to still leave the field with their heads held high.
The team is looking forward to focusing on ourselves and having fun at a much needed practice today. Our next game is Wednesday at 4:00 on the turf vs. Rocky Hill. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
