The Hyde Girl’s lacrosse team showed their toughness yesterday as they battled Rocky Hill in the freezing rain. Despite their inability to score, the girls had many more opportunities in front of the cage than in their previous games. Leah Taylor ’16 and Maddie O’Connor ’16 were able to find each other and complete some nice passes on the offensive end. Emma Deary ’15 showed great hustle in her determination to get to the goal and create opportunities for both herself and her teammates.
Highlights on the defensive end were Joanna Ren ’16 who displayed textbook positioning and played with grit the entire game giving the defense the spark they needed. The MVP of the match goes hands down to Lila Paulsen ’15 who had 15 saves on the day in just her third game as goalie ever. She was more aggressive, coming out and cutting down angles which allowed her to stop multiple point blank shots. Tracy He ’16 continued to lead the team with her heart and hustle. Overall, it was another good day of growth for the team and we look forward to focusing on our stick skills in the much warmer gym this afternoon.
