Wolfpack Boys Lax Falls in Season Opener to PA, 11-210

Portsmouth Abbey-20

Hyde School-11

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team traveled down to Portsmouth, Rhode Island to take on the Portsmouth Abbey School.  The team first chance at an opponent was definitely a chance to learn on the go as Abbey jumped out to an early lead and eventually had a demanding lead 10-2 at the half.  The Wolfpack fought back and showed that we are here to compete despite the score.  The Wolfpack started the 4th quarter with a 4-0 run, goals by Jack Payne 15’ (netted the twine 4 times on the day) Jimmy Murphy 15’ and Christian Bassette 16’ to bring the game within reach.  The defense was led by Jack Cardew 15’ and Christian Bassette who both provided some key plays to help the team stay in the game late in the second half.

Overall it was a day of improvement and learning with a lot of new players getting some significant time playing.  We are looking forward to another tough opponent next week as we travel to Suffield Academy on Wednesday 4/8.  Come support the Wolf Pack!!!!
