Wheeler School 50

Wednesday, February 4th
Worcester Academy 65
Hyde School 38

This week the boy’s J.V. basketball team experienced a couple tough losses. On Tuesday, we traveled to Wheeler School for what we knew was going to be a tough game. It was a back and forth contest the whole way and Wheeler pulled it out at the end. Tyler Dewees lead all scorers with 15 points in the loss. The boys will get an opportunity to avenge that loss next week when Wheeler visits Hyde. Then, on Wednesday, we headed slightly north to take on a very talented Worcester Academy team. Worcester came out of the gates shooting well and hit three immediate three-pointers and we were down 9-0 very quickly and never quite recovered. We found ourselves down big at halftime 47-20. However, the boys decided to play hard in the second half and were challenged to not let Worcester extend the lead. The second half ended up being an even half and we lost by the same 27 points we surrendered in the first half. Player of the game vs. Worcester was Aaron Luther. Aaron had a great attitude and improved defensive effort on the court despite the score of the game.

The team looks forward to a couple home games next week when we host Wheeler and PCD on Wednesday and Friday, respectively. Also, the away game vs. Portsmouth Abbey has been rescheduled for Monday, February 16th at 5:00pm.

Our team record is now 7-4. Go Wolfpack!!
