1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Hyde Phoenix 8 14 16 9 47
Isleboro Eagles 4 9 4 12 29
After struggling away at NYA on Tuesday, the Hyde Phoenix took the floor last night with the goal to play with more intensity and hustle against the Isleboro Eagles. As of late, the girls have struggled after tip off to take it to their opponent and the same was true for their first quarter last night. Only up by four in the second quarter, Hyde needed to drop their shots on offense and shut the Eagles down on defense. Jr. Diamond Brown ‘16 put up 7 points in the second quarter and although the Phoenix were up by seven at half time, adjustments needed to be made on defense. Coming out of the locker room in the second half, Hyde quickly went on an offense tear and after switching up to a 2-3 defense they ended their third quarter up 38-17. A number of girls were able to come off the bench and contribute until the final horn. Leading scorer of the night was So. Lilli Allen ‘17 with 26 and Brown led the team with rebounds. Jr. Lutes Bartlett ’16 had a highlight performance and stepped it up on defense bring down critical rebounds and contributed 6 points. Jill Tolman ’16 and Emma Levensohn ’17 hustled during every possession and provided crucial defense especially in the second half after our defensive shift. The Hyde Lady Phoenix continue to be undefeated and improved their record to 8-0. Tomorrow they travel to Sacopee to face a critical opponent. Let’s. Go.
