1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Hyde Phoenix 21 8 9 12 50
Highview Christian 9 6 2 4 21
It was all hands on deck Saturday afternoon as the Hyde Phoenix, their fans, and several alumni in attendance welcomed the Highview Christian Academy Knights to campus. Each girl on the team made a contribution in the 50-21 Hyde victory as the team improved its record to 6-0. Sophomores Timesha Walker and Lilli Allen paced the Phonenix with 13 and 14 points respectively, and Jr. Kristine Bailey ‘16 added 7 points of her own. So. Willow Beavis ’17, Jr. Cherry Weng ’16, and Fr. Merrill Truluck ’18, all contributed key minutes in support of the team victory as they gained valuable varsity experience. Once again, Sophomores Emma Levenshon and Allie Grover set the tone with hard work and determination, especially on the defensive end of the court. Perhaps the most important accomplishment of this past Saturday was the classy manner in which the Lady Phoenix welcomed their Highview opponents to campus to enjoy fellowship and sportsmanship, both on and off of the court. It is the first time in a long time that the two school competed athletically, and this experience will likely go a long way to building a future relationship.
