Girls Varsity Team Struggles with Offense in Tough Loss to Lincoln, 39-46

Hyde-Woodstock Girls Varsity Basketball vs. Lincoln

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

Hyde-Woodstock – 39

Lincoln – 46

Hyde faced tough league opponent Lincoln on Wednesday and fought hard.  The team played tough defense and rebounded well in the first half.  The duo of Trayneice Mims ’15 and Dossou Ndeye ’15 worked well offensively and kept the wolf pack close.  The score at the midway point was Lincoln 19 and Hyde 17.  Lincoln’s shooters heated up in the second half and the team found themselves playing catch-up.  Whenever it looked like Lincoln was going to break it open Trayneice Mims had an answer she scored 21 of her 32 points in the second half.  Unfortunately, the scoring ended their and Lincoln pulled away.  The offense is the last thing to gel on a team that is new to each other so there is room for improvement.  Hyde faces Providence Country Day on Monday in another league match-up.

The scoring was as follows:

Trayneice Mims 13-3-32; Dossou Ndeye 2-2-6; Annika Morris 1-0-2

Played but did not score: Maya Steindler, Cameron Yale, Joanna Ren
