Hyde-Woodstock Girls Varsity Basketball vs. Marianapolis
December 8, 2014
Hyde-Woodstock – 50
Marianapolis – 46
Hyde faced its first league competition in neighboring school Marianapolis. The game was neck and neck in the first half with neither team having an advantage. Hyde worked together offensively with seniors Trayniece Mims and Dossou Ndeye leading the way posting 14 and 9 points respectively in the first half. The team was helped by the rebounding of freshmen Annika Morris and Cameron Yale. The teams were knotted at 25 at the end of 16 minutes. During halftime the team was challenged to find more scoring from players other than Dossou and Trayniece. Down the stretch freshman Annika Morris hit two big buckets and a minute or two later Cameron Yale added one of her own. The team did an outstanding job in the last minute of the game keeping their composure and having the ball in the right hands. This was a solid win which will build the team’s confidence down the stretch. Hyde faces another league rival verses Lincoln on Wednesday.
Mims Trayniece 12-1-29; Ndeye Dossou 6-1-13; Cameron Yale 1-0-2; Annika Morris 2-2-6.
