Boys Varsity Basketball vs St. Andrews
Hyde-Woodstock Boys Varsity Basketball team had their season opener today versus St. Andrews’ Varsity II Team. After a hot start that consisted of back-to-back three pointers from Kris Carroll ’16 and Khalil Johnson ’17, there was no looking back. A strong inside presence from big man Eamon Joyce ’16 led to his 7 blocked shots, and held St. Andrews to 9 points in the first half. He also had 20 points and 11 rebounds.
St. Andrew’s started the second half making several 3 pointers, starting a 10-2 run, but that didn’t shake Hyde whatsoever. They eventually outscored St. Andrews 34-20 in the second half, highlighted by some acrobatic plays from Dexter Thompson ’15 who had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Kris Carroll did an outstanding job creating shots for himself as well as setting up for his teammates, as he had 7 points and 8 assists.
Other notable performances were Khalil Johnson, who had 9 points, and some strong hustle from Harrison Horner 16’. It was a strong team effort from the Hyde Wolfpack, who won 61-29.
