Boys and Girls Cross Country at Pomfret
This past weekend the boys and girls cross country teams traveled down the street to Pomfret for a tri-meet against Pomfret and Rectory. It was a beautiful fall day and many of the runner’s parents came out to support the team. The course consisted of both field and woods loops, and had some tough hills. The Wolfpack was ready to compete and impress their parents with the improvements they have made this fall.
The boys race was first at 2pm. The Wolfpack was strong off the gun and worked hard to stay competitive throughout the entire race. Corbin Basile ’18 was the first runner to finish for Hyde. Artem Checkmarev ’17 and Dan Oleson ’15 came in next for the Wolfpack. Artem showed consistency as a top runner on the team, while Dan had one of his best races yet. Each member of the boys team showed great effort and made the families that came to support proud.
In the girls race, Mandy Yang ’15 lead the Wolfpack. Mandy finished in 12th place overall and has improved immensely each race from the start of the season. Chibitora Wu ‘16 and Molly Yue ’18 completed the Hyde girl’s team this meet. All three worked extremely hard despite missing their families this weekend.
This upcoming Friday, the boys and girls cross country teams will be traveling to St. Andrews for the SENE championship race so be sure to wish the runners good luck!
