Phoenix Girls JV Soccer Takes the Win vs Wolfpack Rivals 4-0

Hyde Bath (Phoenix): 4

Hyde Woodstock (Wolfpack): 0

On Saturday afternoon, October 18, Hyde Bath Girls JV soccer played Hyde Woodstock on the gym field. Phoenix ladies started the game with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. 12 minutes into the game, striker Timisha Walker’17 made 2 threatening shots that pumped up the whole team. The girls knew they could win the game and worked together organizing effective attacks one after another. However, 20 minutes into the first half, Timisha hurt her knee and had to sit out for the rest of the game. Phoenix ladies were flat for a few minutes until Morgan Primak’17 took the opportunity and scored the first goal. The whole team’s energy came back up immediately. During the second half, led by Captain Leehey Ramen’15 and the sweeper Jennifer Borges’16, every single player in Hyde Phoenix team gave their best effort and Captain Leehey Ramen’ 15 was able to score 3 more goals. Mid-fielder Macy Weymar’ 18 made accurate long passes and created many opportunities for the strikers. Defense players, Becky Zeng’ 15 and Jennifer Borges’ 16 also kept our side of field safe. Goalie Anna Presson’16 didn’t let any goal in. It is our first win of the season and also the best game we played so far.

Our next game is on October 22 at Kent’s Hill.
