Phoenix Boys JV Soccer Earn a Tie on the Road

Throughout the season the boys JV soccer team has been looking and working for a positive result. After a week of tough practices, the lads traveled to Brunswick to take on Brunswick HS for the first time. The Phoenix controlled the game in the first half, passing well, communicating and stayed positive. Despite many chances in the first, the score remained level at halftime.

The second half was fairly similar as both teams were deadlocked in a possession battle. However, in the 75th minute, the dragons took a lead with a well aimed free kick. How would the Phoenix answer? Within five minutes, the Phoenix streamed down the field, connected two passes and scored a fine equalizer on a header by Junior Mike Jimenez ’16.

This was a great result for the Phoenix and the boys left the field smiling. Let’s hope for similar efforts! Greg Kidger’16 was a standout in net and Captain Cooper Platt ’15 led his teammates throughout.
