Phoenix GVS Drops Turf Debut to Hebron 0-6

 October 1, 2014

 Hyde – 0

Hebron – 6

The Hyde girls hosted Hebron Academy for their 2014 turf debut.  It was the second home match of the week having played Berwick the day before.  Unfortunately they were down numbers and did their best with only one sub on the bench.  Hebron scored early on a corner kick volley inside the eighteen as the Phoenix continued to be plagued by marking issues.  Strong movement from Hebron’s strikers proved difficult for the Hyde defensive.  Emma Levensohn ’17 played hard at both mid-field and stopper in the second half.  Captain Jill Tolman ’16 returned to the field with fire as Helenna Wallace ’16took over in goal.  It was another strong second half effort as the Phoenix held Hebron to only two more goals.  They look forward to hosting Kents Hill on Friday.
