Boys JV Soccer vs Hebron Academy
On Wednesday afternoon, the Hebron Lumberjacks traveled to Bath to play the Hyde Phoenix JV soccer team. The Phoenix were at a disadvantage from the initial whistle: they were left with several players out due to injuries, illness and the first ever Phoenix soccer third’s match. Go third’s! Quickly in the first half, the Phoenix allowed four goals, essentially putting the contest out of reach. Despite a large deficit, the boy’s stayed positive and kept working. Jessie Higgins 16’, Duncan O’Rourke 16’ and goalie Evan Davis 17’ worked together to keep the Lumberjacks off of the scoreboard in the second half. The Phoenix also were led by an emerging first year student, Sailor Xi 17’. Sailor used his pace and grit to pressure the lumberjack defense throughout the afternoon. The Phoenix will look to rebound this weekend at Gould.
