Phoenix X-Country Stays Strong in 2nd Meet of Season

The boys cross country team travelled to Gould Academy for its second meet of the season.  The day brought beautiful conditions for running with a hint of fall in the air.  Twelve of the twenty-four team members went and competed.  Injuries, sickness, college visits, and a couple of disciplinary issues kept the other half home.  A total of 38 boys competed in the race.

Once again I was pleased with our efforts.  As a team we finished fourth out of the four teams competing.  Antoine Montgomery `15 was our lead runner on the day finishing finished 9th overall (he finished 13th last week).  Joey Romo `15 continues to be our number two runner finishing 16th overall.  He was followed by Isaac Higgins `15 in 20th place, Lwazi Rennert `16 in 23rd place and Bill Li `17 in 24th place.  Our sixth and seventh place displacers went toEllis Butler `15 (26th place) and Sam Millard `15 (28th place).  Our pack time of 5:09 (the time difference between our first runner and fifth runner) is an area we still need to improve upon.

Boys Team Score…

1. Gould Academy:          22

2. Hebron Academy:       62

3. Kents Hill School:         73

4. Hyde School:                 77

I want to thank parents Bob Millard and Craig Butler for coming and supporting our efforts.

Our next meet is home on Saturday, September 27th… a 2:30PM start.
