Girls JV Soccer vs Rectory School
Hyde – 0, Rectory – 6
The Hyde School Girls JV soccer team travelled down the road to Rectory School this weekend for the first game of the season. Struggling to find their rhythm and battling nerves, the first half of the game the Wolfpack had to figure out what it meant to play as a team. The defense, led by Cameron Yale ’18 and Coco Cai ’17, worked hard to push the Rectory offense away. Annika Morris ’18 steadily improved throughout the game and proved herself to be a challenging goal keeper.
Ending the first half at 0-4 Hyde pulled together and discussed their need to keep the field spread and maintain positions. The second half showed the girls better communication on the field and improved understanding of the game. Katherine Li ’17, Tori Luo ’18, and Tina She ’16 all showed outstanding effort, improved skill, and good sportsmanship throughout the game. Despite their best effort on the field, Hyde ended the game with a score of 0-6.
The team looks forward to focusing in practice on positioning, defending, and moving as a team in the upcoming week.
