Wolfpack Girls Varsity Soccer Solid in Season Opener

Hyde School 0
Portsmouth Abbey 6

The Hyde School Girls Varsity Soccer Team had their home-opener today against Portsmouth Abbey. It was a solid effort by the team to keep up after only going through about one week of preseason play. With only a few returning varsity players, the Wolfpack ladies were still able to hold their ground for eighty minutes. Although losing 0-6, the team was aggressive, which proves that they will be a tough team to knock down this season. Some standouts were Dossou Ndiaye ’15, who took a leadership role for the first time on a soccer field, and Maya Steindler ’16, who led the defense from the sweeper position. It will be exciting to see what Angel Sima ’15, Joyce Zhang ’15, and Alexis Bourgoin ’17 will be able to accomplish this year as new members of the Hyde Varsity Soccer squad. Spectators should expect a different look this year from the Wolfpack as this team learns to work together and discover each other’s strengths.
