Phoenix Boys JV Lax Takes the Win vs Kent’s Hill

The Future Phoenix travelled north to take on a grudge match from a tightly fought contest two weeks ago.   Andrew Palermo ’15 opened the scoring as he once again scooped up the ball (his first of 14 on the day) and took it end to end to score. Defense was the name of the game as Hang Zhao ’15 (25 saves on the day) played an exceptional game in net with Tenzin Crane ’15, Gabe Bernstein ’1 and Grayson Jones ’17 each playing “Tough-D” in front of him.  Midfielder Lawson Lin ’15 added to the scoring while Max D’Amato ’14, John Thomas ’16 and Andrew Hill ’15 each displayed both offensive and defensive growth during the game.  LSM Palermo went end to end for his second goal of the game and Mike Friedman ’15 added two goal in the first half to send the teams into half time with Hyde on top 5 – 1.  Never count the Huskies out.

The Huskies came out to fight for the victory and netted 3 quick goals in the third period to close the gap to 6 – 4.  The Huskies would then tie the game early in the fourth quarter at 6. Greg Kidger ’17 who dented the twine three times in the game added his last two near the end of the quarter to seal the victory for the Phoenix.  Gabe Bernstein ‘15 (3 strips, 3 clears, 7 ground balls on the day) was awarded the “Dirty-Ball” for his Heart and Hustle during the victory.
