Portsmouth Abbey: 14
In Hyde School’s second Lacrosse game of the 2014 season, the “Pack” (Wolfpack) faced off against Portsmouth Abbey of Portsmouth Rhode Island. The Lacrosse Gods offered up great weather and a very competitive Lacrosse game. Hyde’s Jimmy Talbot (’15) notched five goals; Parker Roma (’14) scored two and provided two assists, while Zach Heatley (’14) fed the ball like a champion providing three assists. Portsmouth Abbey shot the ball often and landed some from outside. A few early lapses gave Abbey some inside goals that the Wolfpack found hard to recover from. Hyde’s defense however held up very well against a fairly strong offense. D-poles John Nelson (‘14), Holt Brown (’14), Christian Bassette, (’15) and Ian Nugent, (PG) all protected goalie Will Kuphal, (’15) with skill and trength, and shut Abbey out in the third quarter. The score read 10-6 in the third. Hyde landed only one goal in the fourth quarter while Portsmouth hit for seven. Be on the lookout for the Wolfpack on Saturday April 5th at Falmouth Academy. They will be a team to watch as the season progresses.
