On Friday January 17th the boys JV squad took on the squad from Providence on their home court, looking to break a three game losing streak. The team came out motivated and looking to work together as a unit. Marcus Greenridge ’17 delivered a strong performance on both offense and defense, delivering 14 total points on the day. Evan Abate ’14 provided a fiery spark off the bench on defense and also contributed four points in the first half. The Wolfpack was able to take the lead going into halftime. In the second half newcomers Ian Toader ’16 established his presence, helping to run and set up the offense, as well has hitting a three point shot. John Schaer ’14 and Josh Bouchard ’14 were active and helped the team pull away with the victory. Hyde looks forward to its next game on Saturday against Portsmouth Abbey.

Coming off their first win since the second game of the season, the boys JV basketball squad delivered another solid performance on Saturday January 18th against the boys from Portsmouth Abbey. With a strong 1-3-1 trap defense, the team was able to force turnovers and go up quickly and never look back. Omri West ’16 had arguable his best game of the season scoring fifteen points and hounding the offensive glass for numerous put backs. Jack Greenberg ’15 helped anchor the Wolfpack defense along with solid play upfront from Johnny Schaer ’14 and Evan Abate ’14 (who also had seven points in the second half). Hyde looks forward to its next game on Wednesday January 22 against Worcester.
