JV Wrestling Competes in Quad-Meet at Williston
The Wolfpack traveled to Easthampton, MA to compete in a quad-meet at Williston. The team competed against some new wrestlers from Suffield as well as some of the familiar faces from Eagle Hill and Williston. Each wrestler put in a great effort on the mats. Each wrestler was able to compete in three matches. Paul Randall ’15, John McMahon ’15, Mike Yao ’15, Liam Gorey ’15, Justin Irby ‘14 and Andrew Wang ’14 all finished the meet with at least one win. Paul, Andrew and Liam won all three of their matches by pinning each one of their opponents. Their opponents were from Williston and Eagle Hill. John and Justin both came out with wins by pinning their opponents from Eagle Hill and Williston respectively. Mike won by points in his first match against Williston, but lost by one point in a heartbreaker to his opponent from Suffield. The JV Wolfpack wrestlers keep improving at each tournament they compete in.
JV Wrestling Competes in 6-Team Meet at Northfield Mount Hermon
The Wolfpack travelled to Northfield Mount Hermon to compete in a 6-team meet. The teams the Wolfpack competed against were Cardigan, Eagle Hill, Loomis, NMH, and Eagle Brook. The competition is always fierce when competing at NMH. It was a high-intensity meet and the Wolfpack put forth a great effort. Andrew Wang ’14 was undefeated at NMH pinning his opponents from Eagle Hill, Cardigan, and Loomis. Brand new member to the Wolfpack, Jimmy Talbot ’15, competed in three matches and won his last two by pinning each of his opponents from Eagle Hill and NMH respectively. John McMahon ’15 won all three of his matches. He won his first match by points, his second match by pinning his opponent in the last second of the third period, and pinned his third opponent. His opponents were from Eagle Brook and Loomis. Justin Irby ’14 won 1 out of his 3 matches by points. His opponent was from Eagle Brook. Because of the recent weather two of the Wolfpack’s meets have been cancelled. The Wolfpack’s next meet will be at Tabor School for JV New England’s.
