Hyde-Woodstock Girls Varsity Basketball vs. PCD

Hyde-Woodstock – 35

PCD – 20

Hyde played PCD at home in a league game.  The wolf pack came out firing on all cylinders.  The interior passing on offense was working and the press was frustrating PCD defensively.  Somewhere in the middle of the first half it seemed like someone had turned a switch and the team’s chemistry began to fall apart.  The passing was no longer accurate and defense was allowing more scoring.  In spite of that Hyde went into the half clinging to a 6 point lead.  The team continued to struggle with its chemistry in the early going of the second half making bad passes, over rotating on defense and generally struggling.   PCD tied the game with about 7 minutes left in the game.  After some attitude adjustments the team started working together behind the leadership of senior Janicha Diaz and junior Dossou Ndiaye.  Hyde went on a scoring run and ended up winning by 15 points.   It was a good win for the team who look forward to another league match-up Saturday against Falmouth.

Scoring was as follows: Janicha Diaz ’14 6-1-14, Maia Johnson ’14 1-0-2, Dossou Ndiaye 8-3-19

Played but did not score: Lily Sun, Maya Steindler, Virginia Garrity,  Justine Zhang, Jenna Dubinsky
