Second Win at Kents Hill for Phoenix Cross Country

Kents Hill, ME- Hyde leads the pack near the starting line.

Hyde Phoenix returned to Kents Hill this past weekend for a meet against the Huskies. With a team score of 20, Hyde put eight runners in the top ten. Kents Hill was second with 41 points.

Junior Alex Greenberg was the top finisher for the Phoenix and the first overall with a time of 19:15. Finishing second, Isaac Prestonfollowed closely eight seconds after. His teammate Warsame Mohamed ’13 with a time of 20:17 was a full minute faster than his personal best from last week on the same course. Matt Lupovich ‘13 took ninth in 22:11, 41 seconds faster than last week.

For Future Varsity, another personal best for Zach Brandeis ’13 (23:13) and Darvin Anderson ’13 (27:27), who improved 56 seconds and 41 seconds respectively. A special shout-out to Dan Miller ’15 for completing his first ever cross-country meet.

For the girls’ Cross-Country Team, both Wang Xi ’13 (25:14) and Julie Boutboul ’13 (32:56) accomplished personal bests. Boutboul dropped a minute and 46 seconds from her last week’s time on the same course.
