Boys Varsity Soccer

Even though the Wolfpack gave up 6 goals against a solid Marianapolis team, the game was much closer than the scorecard indicates. Hyde hit the turf at home to try and regain some confidence after a crushing defeat against Pomfret , and that’s exactly what happened. The Wolfpack came out strong and played hard and had several chances to net a couple of goals. Defensively, Hyde continues to make crucial mistakes which cost them to give up easy goals to the opposing strikers. When you can’t find the back of the net and you give up easy goals, there isn’t much else you can do and the score reflects that. What it does not reflect is the effort the Boys put in to be successful. Dawit Kiflemariam ‘15 and Johnny Schaer ’14 continue to lead by example with consistent strong performances game after game. Joey Burns ’14 has put in back to back solid, hard fought performances. He continues to work hard and give one hundred percent until the final whistle. Although the Wolfpack was handed yet another loss, they look to continue to work and improve as the season moves forward.
