Wolfpack Girls JV Soccer vs Barrington Christian, Williams

Girls JV Soccer
Hyde vs. Barrington Christian Academy
Hyde: 0
Barrington: 3
On Saturday, September 21 the Girls JV soccer team hosted Barrington Christian Academy for their first home game. In the first half Hyde struggled to work together early on and quickly fell behind 0-2 in the first 15 minutes. The defense led by Naiwen Zhang ’14 and Justine Zhang ’14  started pulling together as Hyde began to topple the BCA offensive efforts. The first half ended with Hyde down 0-3. With the start of the second half of the game, the Hyde girls were running hard in the midfield and working the ball down the field. Sarah Fan ’15 showed significant effort in helping to keep the BCA offense under pressure and communicating with her team mates. In addition, Izzi Castillo ’15 kept the second half scoreless with some impressive saves in goal. Hyde continues to improve their team work and communication on the field for their game against Wheeler next week.
Girls JV Soccer
Hyde vs. Williams
Hyde: 0
Barrington: 6
Saturday, September 28th the Girls JV soccer team played Williams School at home. Again Hyde found difficulty starting a game working together and quickly fell behind Williams in the first 5 minutes. Strong effort of the midfield led by Sarah Fan ’15Joanna Ren ’15, and Jessica Shao ’14 helped to move the ball out of the defensive zone, while a strong defense backed by Naiwen Zhang ’14 helped to keep the goal clear. The first half ended with Hyde down 0-4 and it was clear tension amongst the team members were keeping them from playing at their best. With a good half-time discussion Hyde returned to the field ready to play. Lily Sun ’14 in goal had some stellar saves and the defense continued to work well together and kept the Williams’ scoring efforts to a minimum. Ending the game down 0-6 the Hyde girls knew they had not played their best and were not working as a team. Monday the Girls JV play Marianapolis and will be looking to find a better rhythm as a team as they start the game.
